HIGHLIGHTS
Gandhi – Mandella Cricket series was organized by Gandhi Global Family in association with United Nations information centre. Inaugural match played in Jammu University ground was won by BALGRAN Cricket team on 10-9-2015 Final Match was played on 8th Oct 2015 at Srinagar wherein our five inmates participated as members of Jammu Province Team Sh. Kavinder Gupta Hon’ble Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly hoisted National Falg on 69th Independence Day. He launched our website and inaugurated two class-room and a library in Bal Bharti Public School- a unit of BALGRAN Indian Dental Assocaiation organized a Dental Awareness as well as oral Health Check up camp on 20-3-15. Dental Unit- an additional facility to our Health Centre was inaugurated on 13-3-2015 by Dr. S.K. Nanda in memory of his parents. A function of Biodiversity conservation was organized in collaboration with WWF J&K Jammu on 14-2-2015 Painting & Symposium were held on the occasion. The function was prescribed by Director Social Forestery J&K Govt. BALGRAN is a "National Award Recipient" for child welfare 1999 from
President of India along with cash award of Rs. 2.00 Lacs 67th Independence Day was celebrated as usual. The Tricolor was hoisted by Sh. S.K. Sharma General Manager Projects, (North Zone II) Power Grid Corporation of India. Corporation constructed & completed Road, Foot Paths & 4 sitting areas in the Play Ground. Plantation drive was held in the premises of the Balgran by "Mother of Nature" NGO under the supervision of Sh. S.S. Bijral, President of the N.G.O. with the assistance of Sh. Tej Bhadur Singh D.F.O urban forestry Jammu. Dr. Meenakashi Kunda & her team from CMO office Jammu conducted a Medical Camp in BAL Bharti Public School where all the children of Balgran & outside were examined.
Extension of Dormitory of Cottage I built with the Donation of Sh. Ponit Nanda, in memory of his son & from Balgran resources was inaugurated by Sh. I.A. Hamal, Vice- Chancellor Baba Gulam Shah Badshah, University, Rajouri.
Sh. Mohan Jee, a spiritual Guru, visited the children on 3rd of July & blessed them. Republic Day was celebrated as usual. The tricolor was hoisted by Smt. Rani Bloeria, M.L.C & Ex. Deputy Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation. BHARTI INFRATEL conducted a general Drawing Competition in Balgran. All the Children participated in the competition. Prizes were distributed amongst the winners. Children visited in Oct 2013 the "Manda Wild life sanctuary" A painting competition was held at Manda & Winner were awarded prizes & certificate of Participation. Annual Day of Bal Bharti Public School was celebrated as usual Sh. I.A. Hamal Vice Chancellor Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Rajouri was the Chief Guest. Sh. A.V. Gupta Sr. Advocate has been nominated our standing counsel. A Rally was taken out by children of the Balgran, plantation drive and tree talk in collaboration with WWF. Sh. Vijay Singh is studying in 3rd semester Civil Engineering in Govt. Polytechnic Jammu. Sh. Ahsan-ul-Haq is studying in 3rd year B.Tech I.T. course at Baba Gulam Shah Badshah University Rajouri. Free boarding/ lodging is being provided by the university.
